Serious Sam 4 adds Survival Mode for PC, and Steam version gets a Christmas event

Croatian studio Croteam in the official microblog of the Serious Sam series and on the Reddit forum announced the release of patch 1.07 for the PC version of its old-school shooter Serious Sam 4.

The patch is already available for download for Steam and GOG users. The update is timed to coincide with the New Year celebrations and (only in the version for the Valve digital service) contains a themed event

To initiate an in-game event, you need to find and decorate a “lonely Christmas tree” on the Death From Above level. This can be done, for example, in the Santa Sam costume added with the patch.

The developers promise “a trip to the winter wonderland captured by aliens” and warn about gifts: “Some of them may contain something worse than a piece of coal

In addition to the Christmas event, update 1.07 brought with it the long-awaited survival mode: in it, players in three different locations will have to face endless waves of enemies for as long as possible.

Among other things, patch 1.07 contains performance improvements for Serious Sam 4 on GeForce RTX 30 video cards and when using various graphics APIs, bug fixes and minor visual innovations.

Serious Sam 4 is available on PC (Steam, GOG) and Google Stadia cloud service. As part of the Steam Winter Sale, which began yesterday, the game is on sale with a 20% discount (the offer applies to all editions).
