SMART Modular Unveils DuraFlash ME2 Series Enterprise SSD
SMART Modular Technologies, a division of SMART Global Holdings, has expanded its range of industrial-grade solid-state drives with the announcement of the new DuraFlash ME2 family of solutions. The presented devices have increased reliability.
The solutions will be offered in M.2 2242, mSATA (MO-300A), and Slim SATA (MO-297A) versions. In all cases, the SATA 3.0 interface is used with a bandwidth of up to 6 Gb / s. For new products, the use of proprietary NVMSentry firmware is provided. It provides accessibility features to tune and optimize performance.
The M.2 2242 series includes modifications with a capacity of 240, 480, and 960 GB. The declared speed of sequential reading of information reaches 560 MB / s, the speed of sequential writing is 500 MB / s. The mSATA and Slim SATA products are available in capacities ranging from 240GB to 1920GB. Read and write speed – up to 560 and 520 MB / s, respectively.
Customers will be able to choose between commercial and industrial versions. In the first case, the operating temperature range extends from 0 to plus 70 degrees Celsius, in the second – from minus 40 to plus 85 degrees. The new drives are suitable for automotive systems, medical and industrial equipment, embedded devices, and more.
