Smart watches Realme Watch 2 will receive a more capacious battery and other improvements compared to its predecessor

The Android Authority portal spoke about the new generation Realme Watch 2 smartwatches. Information about them appeared in the database of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), there is even a PDF file of instructions. The gadget will receive important improvements over its predecessor.

The smartwatch will retain the same 1.4-inch square display as the Realme Watch S Pro but will receive support for blood oxygen monitoring (SpO2), 24/7 heart rate tracking, new types of workout tracking, sleep monitoring and meditation mode. Also, the battery capacity will almost double – from 160 mAh to 305 mAh. Therefore, the Realme Watch 2 can probably last more than a week on a single charge. The connection with the smartphone will be carried out via the Bluetooth 5.0 protocol, and the case will have protection against ingress of water and dust according to the IP68 standard. There is no information about the release date of the watch, but since they have passed the FCC certification, we can hope that the release of the new item will happen very soon.

Despite the fact that Realme is doing extremely well in the smartphone market (it recently became known that the company was able to sell 14.8 million smartphones in the third quarter of 2020), so far it cannot be said about the company’s smartwatches. It is very difficult for the current generation of the Realme Watch family to compete with other manufacturers as they lack advanced fitness features, display quality and battery life. So Realme Watch 2 can fix this situation and help conquer the wearable electronics market. It is unclear, though, if the company will be able to compete with Xiaomi, which is the leader of this market thanks to the staggering sales of the Mi Band.
