And support for the HTC Viverse metaverse
HTC has officially unveiled the U23 Pro smartphone, which was previously known thanks to several leaks. The announcement, as expected , took place today – May 18. The new smartphone received SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and, although this is a mid-budget platform, the device has become the most powerful for the Taiwanese manufacturer: there have been no flagship models in the HTC line for a long time. The HTC U23 Pro features a 6.7-inch FullHD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. By the way, the fingerprint sensor is not built into the screen, but is located in the power button on the right side panel.

The amount of RAM of the device is 8 or 12 GB, and built-in – 256 GB, there is also a microSD slot. The smartphone received four rear cameras at once: 108-megapixel with optical image stabilization, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, 5-megapixel for macro photography and 2-megapixel with a depth sensor. The front camera has a resolution of 32 MP. HTC U23 Pro has a 4600 mAh battery that supports 30W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging is also provided. The smartphone is IP67 dust and water resistant and runs Android 13 out of the box.
The HTC U23 Pro is truly compatible with HTC’s Viverse Metaverse: it comes preloaded with the Viverse app and supports the Vive XR Elite mixed reality headset, which can be purchased separately. The smartphone is presented in two colors: black and white. The 8GB model costs NT$16,990 (about $550), while the 12GB model costs NT$17,990 (about $585). The HTC U23 Pro is already available for order on Taiwan’s HTC website, but no other markets have been announced yet.
