When connected to a PC, TV, or monitor
Smartphones are becoming more and more productive every year, and Apple’s example has shown that a single-chip system can easily compete with full-fledged x86-compatible processors.
Smartphone, PC, and smart TV “in one device.” Motorola prepares new usage modes for its smartphones
At the moment, Samsung quietly continues to promote its DeX interface, which turns the smartphone into a PC. Huawei has a similar development. Motorola will soon join them. More precisely, it will return to basics since Motorola, too ahead of its time, almost 10 years ago, introduced the Lapdock docking station for its smartphones.
The company is reportedly preparing Desktop Mode for its smartphones. That is, a smartphone, when connected to a TV or monitor, will display an operating system interface similar to Windows.
But that’s not all. There will be another TV Mode, designed, as you might guess, for smart TVs. In this case, when a smartphone is connected, another version of the interface will be displayed, convenient for use on a TV.
And there will also be a certain desktop mode that will allow you to connect a PC and a smartphone.
Importantly, all this will appear when devices are updated to Android 11, although, of course, not in all smartphones. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear whether the current Motorola flagship owners should expect new modes, but the new ones should have it all.
