The 24-core Mali-G78 GPU in the Kirin 9000 is slightly faster than the GPU installed in the Snapdragon 875
The results of testing the yet unannounced SoC Snapdragon 875 in the popular Master Lu test application appeared, which were compared with the results of the Kirin 900.
Snapdragon 875 almost lost out to Kirin 900 in latest comparison
The Snapdragon 875 SoC, codenamed Lahaina, has a maximum clock speed of 2.84GHz, while the tested device comes with a 1080p + screen and 12GB of RAM.
In terms of processor performance, the Snapdragon 875 is noticeably ahead of the Kirin 900 and Snapdragon 865 due to the use of the Cortex-X1 and Cortex-A78 processor cores. Looking at GPU performance, the situation becomes quite interesting, as the 24-core Mali-G78 GPU in the Kirin 9000 is slightly faster than the GPU in the Snapdragon 875.
In terms of the final performance, the Snapdragon 875 turned out to be about 2.7% faster than the Kirin 9000, but the situation may change for the better before the final version of the platform is released.
