All you need is paint
MSI seems to have solved the problem with the 12VHPWR connector. It was enough just to paint it.
The company showed at Computex the most simple and equally effective solution. It lies in the fact that a certain part of the connector is painted yellow.
So that no more GeForce RTX 4090s catch fire.
When the connector is connected correctly, the yellow part is completely hidden in the case, and this is an excellent indicator that the connector is inserted correctly. If, after connecting, the user sees yellow plastic, then the connector is connected incorrectly.
The idea of MSI is very easy to implement by any manufacturer, so perhaps in the near future this coloring may become a standard. Of course, recently there has not been a single case of fire on the RTX 4090 or any other Nvidia video card, or it simply has not been reported, but in such a situation it will not be superfluous to play it safe.
