Some Apple Watch SE users notice severe overheating after charging

User reviews from South Korea have begun to appear on Reddit reporting overheating issues with the new Apple Watch SE smartwatch. A number of users have reported that their 40mm Apple Watch SE with GPS and LTE overheats during or after charging.

Watch owners report that the device gets too hot when worn on the wrist shortly after charging. Users claim that Apple Watch SE is so hot that it leaves redness on the skin of the hand. In some cases, a burnt spot appears on the display of the device, which indicates that the heating of the watch is so strong that it can damage the screen.

It is not yet known how common the problem is. There are reports that users in North America have encountered similar problems and have requested replacement devices. It’s also unclear if the issues are with the battery or with other watch components. Apple has not yet responded to the situation.
