Sony has unveiled a new device called Sony Digital Paper DPT-CP1 Version 2, which features a color screen for reading and taking notes. The screen of the device was created using E INK Kaleido 2.5 electronic ink technology, which has not yet been announced.

It is one of the first products to use the faster E INK Carta 1250 ink for faster page turning and display of stylus input.

Sony Digital Paper DPT-CP1 Color version 2 has a diagonal of 10.3 inches. The resolution in black and white is 1404 x 1872 pixels with a density of 227 ppi. At the same time, the characteristics of the color image have not yet been reported.

The device also features a new Wacom touch layer that is compatible with almost any Wacom stylus. This is a noticeable improvement over the previous model, which uses a dedicated pen that is charged via a microUSB connector.

The heart of Sony Digital Paper DPT-CP1 Version 2 is a quad-core SoC with a Cortex-A53 CPU and 32GB of flash memory. The equipment includes a USB-C port and Bluetooth 5.0. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system.

Sony Digital Paper DPT-CP1 Version 2 comes with an internet browser preinstalled so you can browse your favorite sites and check your email.

Sony has not disclosed details on pricing or release dates yet.
