PlayStation 5 Slim to be released in late 2023
Sony has released a fresh system software update for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 game consoles. Firmware 10.70 (PS4) and 23.01-07.60.00 (PS5) are already available for users worldwide.
Sony explains in the release notes for both releases:
This system software update will improve console performance.
Sony has improved the performance of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
In the last PS5 update in June, the developers improved messages and usability on some screens. The last major update was released for PS5 in March 2023, adding support for Discord and a host of other improvements.
New system software is usually automatically downloaded to the console. Also, the latest firmware can be downloaded manually through the system settings of the console (Settings> System> System software> System software update).
