And now this data has found a second confirmation. Portal Games Radar drew attention to page PS5 on the official website of PlayStation in the UK. On it, the phrase has changed, indicating the release date of the upcoming console.
The device’s page now says “launch at the end of 2020”. Similar information is provided on the Russian PlayStation website. Earlier two resources present another phrase: “will be released in the holiday period to 2020”. More curiously, the post on PS in the US hasn’t changed. According to the portal Games Radar, this may be due to Thanksgiving Day. It is considered a holiday only in the States, and Sony decided not to confuse people. Allegedly, the Japanese company changed the phrase so that people could understand the release date more clearly.
This version sounds strange considering the time remaining before the console starts. The 2020 holiday period has been mentioned as an exit window for a long time. Plus, in the trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the launch dates were indicated separately for the United States, Canada, and other countries. Most likely, the PlayStation 5 will indeed first appear in the States, which are considered one of the world’s largest markets.
