SpaceX launched another batch of Starlink communication satellites into space
SpaceX has successfully launched another 60 Starlink communication satellites into space. For this, the Falcon 9 launch vehicle was used, which was launched from the launch site at Cape Canaveral in Florida at 23:44 local time (6:44 Moscow time).
It is worth noting that the launch vehicle was launched from the first stage, which had successfully returned to Earth six times before. Approximately nine minutes after launch, the first stage of Falcon 9 successfully returned for the seventh time, smoothly landing on the Just Read the Instructions platform in the Atlantic Ocean. SpaceX successfully launched its Falcon 9 rocket for the 115th time, with 61 reusing the reusable first stage of the launch vehicle.
SpaceX continues to maintain a fast pace of satellite launch. At the moment, the Starlink grouping includes more than 1,500 vehicles, and in the future, their number may increase significantly since SpaceX has permission to launch up to 30 thousand satellites.
SpaceX’s goal is to launch enough spacecraft to build a global network capable of providing Internet connectivity from anywhere on Earth. The Starlink network is currently in beta testing and is available to a limited number of users in the US, Canada, UK, and Germany. A larger rollout of Starlink is slated for the second half of this year, so SpaceX continues to accept pre-orders for satellite connectivity equipment.
