The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones, among other things, were surprising in that the company announced seven years of OS updates for them. Even Apple doesn’t offer this, and just a few years ago, at best, an Android smartphone could count on two years of updates. Due to this move by Google, questions arose regarding the availability of spare parts. Fortunately, here the company also does everything for the convenience of users: there will be spare parts.

In an interview with Android Authority, Google’s director of product management, Soniya Jobanputra, confirmed that the company will continue to produce spare parts for these smartphones for the next seven years.
Spare parts will be available for seven years. This is part of our commitment as we approach our seven-year commitment to making our parts available so you can keep your equipment running during that time.
Let’s remember that Google also announced cooperation with iFixit to make the new Pixel more repairable. We can only hope that the company will take a similar approach to the relatively new Pixel Watch 2 since Google simply refuses to repair the first ones.
