Spotify desktop and web apps have UI updates

The popular music service Spotify developers have announced the start of distribution of an updated user interface for their desktop application and web player. Shortly, users will have access to an “improved look” consistent with the mobile version of Spotify and make the interaction with the service more comfortable.

The developer’s post says that it “ took months of testing and research, communicating with users and collecting feedback ” to create an updated interface design for the desktop version of Spotify and the web version of the client. All useful functions have been preserved, but at the same time, interacting with the service will be even easier and more convenient. Plus, users won’t experience any discomfort when switching from the desktop app to the Spotify web client and vice versa. Now they have an identical user interface, so using different versions of the application is equally convenient.

In addition to visual improvements, there are also new features. Users now have access to a music and podcast search bar on the home page, making it easier to create playlists. Also, users can add annotations and save podcasts for later listening offline.

According to reports, the updated user interface for the desktop application and the web version of Spotify will be available to all service users in the next few weeks. The changes will roll out gradually, so it will take some time to reach Spotify users in all markets.
