Steam Statistics: NVIDIA RTX 3070 GPUs Gain Fastest Popularity
Today, the free sale price of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 is sometimes more than $ 1200, so one would think that all accelerators fall into the hands of either miners or dealers. But this is not the case: the latest research on hardware from Steam shows that this type of graphics card is making its way into gaming PCs quite quickly despite the established prices.
At the end of March, GeForce RTX 3070 became the fastest-growing graphics accelerator in Steam statistics. It took the 17th most popular place among gaming computers’ installation base with a total share of 1.29%. At the same time, the share of RTX 3080 was 0.87%, RTX 3060 Ti – 0.39%, and the flagship accelerator RTX 3090 – 0.34%. Thus, Ampere accelerators are already installed in 2.89% of gaming computers participating in the latest Steam polls in total.
This is an excellent indicator, especially if you consider that AMD RX 6000 series video cards do not have a single place in the entire table of popular solutions, which unites 95 different graphics accelerators’ models. It looks like more gamers today are even using the 2011 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (0.16%) than any of AMD’s latest cards.
At the same time, more than a quarter of Steam players have already switched to AMD processors instead of Intel – all thanks to the continuing victorious march of the Zen architecture and its subsequent versions.
