Steam Weekly Chart: PUBG Returns Top, Resident Evil Village Top 10
Valve has unveiled a list of ten top-grossing games over the past week (April 26 – May 2). In the first place, there were PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which passed testing mode “Battle Royale with revivals» (Respawn Royale). Resident Evil Village and Total War: Rome Remastered also debuted in the top 10.
In the new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds mode, the damage from all weapons and projectiles is increased by 500%, but at the same time, defeated players are revived 100 seconds after death (if at that time at least one squad member remains alive). Also, the developers removed the collection of weapons and added three sets of equipment to choose from, which can be changed with each revival. Battles are fought on the Paramo map with a nine-unit limit. On PC, testing was carried out from April 29 to May 3, and on consoles, it will be held from May 6 to 10. Until May 5th, the shooter has a 50% discount on Steam.
Operation Broken Fang for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has added six positions – now it is the second. The co-op adventure It Takes Two has moved from second to third, and the Valve Index VR headset has moved to fourth. Last week’s leader, NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 … (2010 RPG remaster), dropped to fifth. The sixth place is Death Stranding, which is now offered at a 60% discount (the promotion will end on May 6).
In seventh place is the new product, Total War: Rome Remastered. The re-release of Rome: Total War with improved graphics, a redesigned interface, and new features was released on PC on April 29. The media rated the remaster quite high (rating on Metacritic – 77/100). According to most journalists, the developers have successfully modernized the classic RTS. However, on Steam, the fresh version has “mixed” reviews (the total number of reviews is close to three thousand, positive – 69%). Buyers complain about technical problems and high prices and criticism of the controls, new interface, the appearance of units, and other changes.
Resident Evil Village, which has not yet been released, has reached eighth place thanks to pre-orders. The release will take place on May 7th on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. Yesterday, the game received an hour-long demo for all platforms, which will be available until May 10. The ninth was Nier: Automata (until Thursday evening, it can be purchased 50% cheaper), and Valheim closes the top ten.
