Cataract Symptoms: This symptom of cataract appears many years ago, if you keep an eye, you will not have to undergo surgery

Early Sign of Cataract: Cataract develops slowly inside the eye. But keeping an eye out for symptoms can be caught early and surgery can be avoided.

According to the World Health Organization , about 220 crore people worldwide are troubled by weak eyesight. A cataract is also an eye problem in which the front of the natural lens becomes cloudy. This problem usually occurs in old age, but its risk has increased even before old age.

According to WHO, a clouding of the front of the lens of the eye is called a cataract. This is called ‘clouding of the lens’ in medical language. But do you know what is the first symptom of cataract? Because, by catching this symptom, necessary preventive steps can be taken and cataract surgery can be avoided.

What is the main reason for getting cataracts?

According to the mayo clinic, cataracts most often occur in old age. Because of aging, the proteins and fibers present in the eye’s lens begin to break down, due to which a cloudy layer accumulates on the lens. This is called cataracts. However, sometimes cataracts can also be caused due to congenital injury.

According to the National Eye Institute, cataracts begin with a weakening of the eyesight. This is its first symptom, keeping an eye on which steps can be taken to prevent this disease. Along with the weakening of eyesight, many other symptoms can also appear.

Other symptoms of cataracts

  1. blurred vision
  2. lightening of complexion
  3. night blindness
  4. any light flashes
  5. seeing a circle around things like bulbs, lights
  6. double vision
  7. Need to change glasses or contact lenses frequently

These foods can prevent cataracts

According to WebMD, to avoid cataracts, eat foods rich in nutrients like vitamin C, and vitamin E, which are good for the eyes. As-

  • citrus fruits
  • Tomato
  • Red and Green Bell Peppers
  • Kiwi
  • Broccoli
  • Strawberries
  • potato
  • sunflower oil
  • spinach, etc.

These people are at higher risk

Some people are at a higher risk of developing cataracts. In diabetes patients, suffering from eye disease, old eye surgery, or long-term use of steroid medicines, alcoholics and smokers are included.
