TCL introduced a new type of display NXTPAPER: better than e-paper and no strain on the eyes
TCL, at the IFA 2020 electronics exhibition, which is now taking place in Berlin (the capital of Germany), has presented a new type of display NXTPAPER designed for next-generation mobile devices.
The screens are designed to compete with colored e-paper based panels. The announced technology, as noted, took two years to create, and the development itself is protected by eleven patents.
NXTPAPER displays are flicker-free and reduce blue light emitted. Compared to e-paper, the new screens provide a 25% higher contrast ratio and compared to traditional LCD panels, a 65% reduction in power consumption, and a 36% reduction in thickness. The displays employ reflective technology.
NXTPAPER screens display in full HD format. Such panels can be used in tablet computers. In addition, as noted, the displays are suitable for viewing video content.
About when gadgets based on NXTPAPER will appear on the commercial market, nothing has yet been reported.
