Recall that Astral Chain was and still remains the only representative of the series of the same name: a continuation of any kind of branch was not officially announced.

This fact did not stop Kamiya from posting a message on her Twitter last weekend with the following content: “Astral Chain 2”. The tweet was deleted shortly after it was posted, but a copy has been preserved in the web cache and some users.

It is noteworthy that the role of the game designer in the development of Astral Chain was limited to consulting the project team members. The game was directed by Takahisa Taura.

Earlier, Taura said that he already had ideas for the Astral Chain sequel. But turn Astral Chain in the trilogy, despite widespread in June 2019 information, at this stage, yet no one is going.

Astral Chain was released in August 2019 exclusively on Nintendo Switch. In the four months since the release, sales have exceeded 1 million copies. It is not known how the game performed during 2020.

According to official information, Platinum Games is currently working on several projects at once, including the slasher Bayonetta 3, the co-op action game Babylon’s Fall, and the superhero action movie Project GG.
