Telegram will feature video conferencing

Pavel Durov, the founder of the social network Vkontakte and Telegram, announced an upcoming important innovation in the named messenger: it will implement a video conferencing system in May.

As a reminder, Telegram already supports voice chat facilities. They have no restrictions on the number of participants – millions of users worldwide can follow any conversation.

“ Speaking of video calls, in May, we will add video metering to our voice chats, turning Telegram into a powerful platform for group video calls,” wrote Mr. Durov.

For video conferencing, Telegram provides features such as encryption and noise reduction. The new tool can be used on smartphones and other devices – tablets and personal computers. At the same time, as noted by Pavel Durov, users can count on high speed and security.

We add that the number of active monthly Telegram users exceeded 500 million at the beginning of January this year. This messenger is trendy among Russians.
