Tesla Model 3 and Model Y electric cars have risen in price again – the cheapest Tesla now costs $ 39,500
Tesla, a US-based company, has updated its website with a price hike on some versions of its Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles.
Tesla has regularly adjusted its electric vehicle prices in the past, but it has never happened as often as it has in the past four months. In February of this year, the company made changes to the Model 3 and Model Y cost, slightly lowering the price. At the beginning of March, there was a second reduction, and at the end of the month, the cost of the Model 3 was increased. In April, the manufacturer increased the price of the Model 3 and Model Y twice more.
As for the latest change, Tesla has increased the Model 3 Standard Range Plus and Model 3 Long Range AWD price by $ 500. After this increase, the Model 3 Standard Range Plus remains the most affordable version of the electric car, the price of which increased from $ 37 thousand in February to $ 39.5 thousand in May. At the same time, the cost of Model 3 Long Range AWD increased from $ 46.5 thousand in March to 48.5 thousand in May.
The value of the Tesla Model Y electric vehicle has also risen steadily in recent months. Considering the latest changes, the price of the Model Y Long Range AWD is currently $ 51.5 thousand, and the Model Y Performance will have to pay $ 61 thousand.
The reason for such frequent price adjustments for Tesla’s electric vehicles remains unknown. Perhaps this behavior is due to an increase in supply costs since the company has recently faced serious difficulties in this area. It is also possible that Tesla is gradually increasing the cost of the most affordable electric vehicles in anticipation of the introduction of new government incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles.
