Tesla offers a year of free Supercharging for its electric vehicles in the US

As Electrek was able to find out, the company ordered its sales force in North America to issue a year of free and unlimited charging on the Supercharging network. This promotion is valid from December 12th to December 31st and covers still undelivered Model 3sand Model Y electric vehicles, excluding Model 3 Standard Range, which will be delivered by December 31st.

Tesla previously planned to deliver 500,000 electric vehicles in the current quarter by the end of 2020. However, now there are 181 thousand electric vehicles left before reaching this goal and setting the next quarterly record.

Unlike many other automakers, Tesla owns the entire distribution network, and sales revenue cannot be “credited” until the vehicle is “delivered.” The promotion is aimed precisely at ensuring that buyers still take their new Tesla.
