Tesla’s superiority turned out to be multiple
Tesla Model Y, BYD Yuan Plus, and GAC Aion Y are among the top three best-selling all-electric SUVs in China, according to the latest data from the China Passenger Car Association.
These are the only models to have sold over 10,000 units this March. And the gaps between them are very large. The Tesla Model Y has skyrocketed sales, surpassing the 50,000 vehicle mark, well ahead of other vehicles. BYD Yuan Plus sales are close to 30,000 vehicles, and GAC Aion Y sales are nearing 15,000 units.
Other cars that made the top ten were BYD Song Plus EV, Smart#1, BMW iX3, Leapmotor C11, Neta U, Hycan Z03 and AITO M5.
Neta V, Geely Geometry E and Dongfeng Nano Box barely passed the 1,000 mark.
In addition, 48 models sold less than 1,000 units in March. All crossovers below 36th place sold less than 500 units.
