Volkswagen begins accepting orders for its new ninth generation Volkswagen Passat. The model is already available to order in several European countries, including Germany, starting at €39,995 for the base version with eTSI mild-hybrid technology.
The new Volkswagen Passat offers a varied choice of engines, including traditional petrol and diesel options, as well as hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. Four configuration options are available to buyers: Passat, Business, Elegance and R-Line. Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, rearview camera, MIB4 multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air conditioning, USB-C ports with 45W fast charging, black roof rails and LED optics.

The Business version costs €44,995, is powered by a 1.5-litre eTSI engine and adds styling features such as chrome window surrounds, silver anodised roof rails and chrome trim at the front and rear. This version also received comfortable seats with electrical adjustment and a massage function, three-zone climate control, an automatic light control system, a parking assistant and a partial autonomous driving system.
Elegance and R-Line are positioned as top versions with additional equipment and features. They received new generation LED matrix headlights, heated and massage seats, a keyless entry system, 30-color ambient lighting, IDA voice assistant, a new parking assistant with a memory function, an electric trunk and a Dynamic Light Assist high-beam control system. The Passat R-Line also gets sports seats with integrated headrests, and the Elegance version can be identified by its original 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels.
