The game is based on an original story created by the Arkham Horror writers from Fantasy Flight Interactive. Events take place in 1926 in the United States. Users will manage a team of detectives investigating the mysterious death of an astronomy professor. The choice will offer 12 characters with unique sets of skills – the “most recognizable” heroes of the universe of “Arkham Horror.” The storyline campaign includes nine chapters.

The detectives will visit locations familiar to Lovecraft fans, including Miskatonic University, Arkham Asylum, and the Louisiana swamps. They will  “face Lovecraft horror and plunge into the depths of madness.” Players will have to monitor their state of mind – this parameter affects the course of the investigation. Battles take place in turn-based mode. Among the enemies are promised “strange creatures of science,” “revived nightmares,” and adherents of “sinister cult,” seeking to destroy all that exists. Heroes will be able to use melee and ranged weapons, as well as “powerful items” and “destructive spells.”
