NVIDIA releases GeForce 461.51 Hotfix driver with bug fixes

In late January, NVIDIA released the WHQL-certified GeForce 461.40 graphics driver as part of the Game Ready program, whose main feature is support for the horror film The Medium, which uses RTX and DLSS technologies. An unfortunate bug was identified in the update that caused 2020 LG CX OLED TVs to be recognized as G-Sync-enabled displays – the GeForce 461.51 Hotfix fixes this.

At the same time, NVIDIA specialists fixed other known issues:

  • TDR errors while browsing on Ampere accelerators in Chrome and Edge
  • Edge of Eternity and Hitman 2 experienced stuttering and low frame rates in windowed mode when running G-Sync and active GPU scheduler hardware acceleration technology;
  • Wallpaper Engine crashes on startup or wakes up from sleep.
  • in Surround mode on RTX 30 cards, the screen displayed a message about no signal;
  • on some notebooks, the Maximum Graphics Power option was missing from the NVIDIA Control Panel.NVIDIA engineers continue to address a host of known issues:
    • flickering in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands;
    • low FPS in Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander 2;
    • Batman: Arkham Knight crashes when enhanced smoke effects are enabled;
    • Steam VR games stutter when launching against any GPU performance monitoring tool.
    • Power consumption of Ampere and Turing graphics cards increases in idle mode on systems using some G-Sync monitors with high refresh rates;
    • video playback stops when scrolling down the YouTube page;
    • Pascal laptops with high refresh rates turn on 60Hz mode while gaming;
    • Vulkan apps experience performance degradation when using G-Sync and switching from full screen to windowed mode using in-game settings.

    You can download the NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready 461.51 Hotfix on Windows 10 64-bit laptops and desktops from the NVIDIA website or through the GeForce Experience app. The driver supports video cards of the GeForce 600 family and above.
