The best new items in February on Steam: Valheim, Little Nightmares II, Chinese horror and Polish fencing simulator
Valve has released a list of the top-grossing February Steam releases and the top 4 free games. The top sellers were the sensational Valheim and Little Nightmares II and less notable projects, such as the horror film Firework from the Chinese studio Shiying and the fencing simulator Hellish Quart from the animator The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The top 20 is based on revenue in the first two weeks after release. Games in it are arranged in random order. For convenience, they are divided into four categories: Early Access, Puzzle, Co-op, and Controller Support.
Traditionally, there are a lot of popular novelties in Early Access. Chief among them is the Scandinavian “sandbox” Valheim, which has recently sold over 6 million copies. Over the past day, the maximum number of concurrent players was 183,147. The project is in the first place in the list of the most highly rated releases of 2021 on Steam (96% of more than 171 thousand reviews are positive).
Also on the list are the turn-based tactics Fights in Tight Spaces, mentioned by Hellish Quart, humorous space survival simulator Breathedge from the Russian studio RedRuins Softworks and the dark roguelike Curse of the Dead Gods (the latter two are already out of Steam Early Access). Separately, Valve drew attention to puzzles. Such an element is present in six games of different genres: Little Nightmares II, Firework, the dark adventure The Room 4: Old Sins, the hacker simulator Cyber Manhunt, the rhythm doctor game Rhythm Doctor, and the hybrid of dating simulator and matches 3 games HuniePop 2. : Double Date.
Major titles include Atlus’ action RPG Persona 5 Strikers, a direct sequel to the RPG Persona 5, and the full edition of Nioh 2 from Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo.
