She has almost the same parameters, but 16 GB of memory
The question of the lack of 8 GB of memory for video cards remains on the agenda, and the authors of the Hardware Unboxed channel found probably the most adequate way to check whether everything is really so bad in the case of the GeForce RTX 3070 model. They took the Nvidia RTX A4000 for comparison.
This is a professional accelerator based on the same GA104 GPU. It has slightly more CUDA cores (6144 versus 5888 for the RTX 3070), but the difference is small and the frequencies are lower.
The card was compared with the RTX A4000
As you can see, the RTX 3070 is far behind its sister adapter. In some games and modes, the difference can be multiple. In some cases, the RTX 3070 shows higher performance, but suffers from ragged gameplay, and in the game Forspoken, the situation is completely amusing: the RTX 3070 shows much better performance, there are no particular problems with smoothness, however, the textures look bad and clearly have significantly less detail.
Thus, there is no doubt that the RTX 3070 is not enough for 8 GB of memory. Earlier we saw a comparison of such a card with a modified version, which was soldered with an additional 8 GB, but in the case of the current comparison, everything is simpler and more correct.
