The creator of Mafia planned to implement an ambitious plot with two protagonists in the third part, but 2K Games refused

Recently, the creator of the first Mafia, Daniel Vavra, shared his opinion about its remake, and now he spoke about the unrealized ideas for the third party. It turns out that the current head of Warhorse Studios planned to present an ambitious storyline with two protagonists in Mafia III.

The essence of the idea was to control a policeman and a criminal. The events of the plot were supposed to unfold in the sixties of the last century. As the guardian of the law, the players would investigate their own atrocities that they committed as a bandit. Daniel Vavra clarified that the task only seems simple, but in reality, everything would be much more interesting.

The Warhorse CEO saw great potential in the described idea, but 2K Games did not share these thoughts. The company decided to go the other way and create the Mafia III that hit store shelves in 2016. From the original idea of Daniel Wavra, only the 1960s era has survived in the game.
