Apple tries to take into account the wishes of its users. So, in the current notebooks of the manufacturer, a keyboard mechanism of the “scissors” type is used, which replaced the unsuccessful “butterfly.” However, the company cannot always implement the most unusual requests due to physical limitations or common sense. So the enthusiast took on the job of implanting a mechanical keyboard into the MacBook Pro.

The updated scissor-switch mechanism in Apple laptops boasts improved performance and responsiveness when typing quickly. Nevertheless, some device owners still believe that real mechanics cannot be replaced by anything. True, due to the design features of compact devices, Apple cannot use bulky mechanical switches. But the brave enthusiast took the initiative into his own hands and did what some were waiting for.

YouTube author Squashy Boys took apart a personal MacBook Pro and turned the compact device into a mechanical typewriter. He had to modify the aluminum case of the device greatly and partially disassemble the donor RK ROYAL keyboard.

The non-standard keyboard had to be fixed with a glue gun, but the connection of third-party hardware did not cause problems – the keyboard is wireless and connects via Bluetooth. As a result, the enthusiast put together a working system and now owns the world’s first MacBook Pro with a mechanical keyboard on board.

Unfortunately, the laptop does not close completely, but the owner enjoys working on the mechanics with RGB backlighting.
