The exclusion of charging and headphones from the iPhone 12 kit will justify the fight for the environment, but the point is to save

According to Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, Apple has finally decided to sell the iPhone 12 without additional accessories such as a charger and wired headphones. Thus, one more confirmation of the previously circulated assumptions has been obtained.

TrendForce notes that the cost of new smartphones from the Californian company will increase significantly due to support for 5G, so removing the charger and headphones from the kit will be one of the ways to offset costs while maintaining the price of devices at the level of previous generations. Along with this, Apple plans to introduce a new 20-watt fast charger, which, according to authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, will be sold separately. He also stated that the iPhone 12 family will have the same prices as the current iPhone 11, which starts at $ 699.

It is assumed that Apple will present the configuration change under the guise of fighting for the environment. Such a move will lead to more compact smartphone packaging, less waste, and fewer emissions into the atmosphere both during production and during the transportation of finished products. In addition, eliminating the bundled headset will help spur sales of wireless AirPods.

Although shipments of new iPhones usually begin in late September, Apple recently announced that they will be delayed by a few weeks this year. According to analyst Jon Prosser, Apple will unveil the new Apple Watch and iPad in a press release in early September, while the iPhone 12 will be shown at a virtual event in October.
