Fully import-substituting domestic liners on regular routes will not be seen soon

Anatoly Gaidansky, First Deputy General Director of PJSC Yakovlev and head of AeroComposite, announced on the air of MAi Podcasts that the first MS-21 aircraft would be delivered to the customer, Aeroflot, only in 2025.

“ At the beginning of 2025, we hope that the first six aircraft will be transferred to Aeroflot, where they will first begin experimental and then serial operation ,” Anatoly Gaidansky said.

The top manager also said that the first MS-21, which is being developed as part of the import substitution program, will take off in December. But it will be import-substituting by about 70%.

“ The active stage is now underway, when we are completing the import substitution of all systems: this applies to drives, avionics, and air conditioning systems. The entire cycle on the plane, everything we have will now be Russian. We plan to finish this work in draft form somewhere by the end of this year ,” Anatoly Gaidansky said.

“ We plan to raise a fully imported car sometime in April of the next [2024] year ,” he added.
