The first thing that headphone reviewers note is the notorious smell of new Apple technology, which fans of the brand appreciate so much. In terms of design, the AirPods Max are pretty interesting too. The headband is made of stainless steel and covered with a rubber material with a breathable mesh knitted dome at the top. The headband connects to the earbuds using adjustable stainless steel extensions with spring-loaded hinges that look and feel premium.

Users note that at first glance, the device in silver colour does not look “for all the money.” You might even think that the headphones are made of plastic, but the metallic coolness gives out the material used. There are ten holes cut into the ear cups. Seven of these are for microphones, six of which are used for noise cancellation and one for voice calls.

The Lightning port familiar to Apple fans is used to charge the device. AirPods Max charges with a standard 5W iPhone adapter in two hours, providing 20 hours of battery life. Unfortunately, fast charging is not supported.

On the right earphone, you can find the Digital Crown volume control, which repeats a similar element of the Apple Watch, when pressed, you can call Siri. Not far from it is a button to switch between noise reduction and transparency modes. Unfortunately, AirPods Max lacks the analogue 3.5mm jack. However, to address this issue, Apple released a $ 35 3.5mm bi-directional cable to Lightning.

The memory foam ear cushions are very comfortable and magnetically attached. They hold pretty securely, but they come off very easily. Under them, there is white plastic and a sensor window that determines the position, thanks to which playback is paused when the headphones are removed. For AirPods Max, a kind of transport bag is available that wraps around the headphones.
