The flagship smartphones OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are officially presented
Today, the Chinese company OnePlus has finally officially unveiled a new family of flagship smartphones. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro have a beautiful modern design, LTPO displays, and the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor. Not without advanced cameras, which Hasselblad had a hand in.
By far the most interesting among the new products is the OnePlus 9 Pro. It is an uncompromising flagship device featuring a 6.7-inch AMOLED display based on low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) with a resolution of 1440 × 3216 pixels. The screen, which is typical for this type of matrix, supports the refresh rate’s dynamic change in the range from 1 to 120 Hz. The display supports 10-bit color depth, which means it can display over a billion colors.
The heart of the OnePlus 9 Pro is the high-performance Snapdragon 888 chipset. The processor is paired with 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. As for the permanent memory, users have two options for built-in storage: 128 or 256 GB. It, as befits flagships, is made according to the UFS 3.1 standard.
As for the cameras, everything is grown-up here too. The main module, developed in collaboration with Hasselblad, boasts a Sony IMX789 48-megapixel main sensor with a matrix size of 1 / 1.31 inches. The ultra-wide-angle camera is represented by a Sony IMX766 sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels. The lens uses Free Form lenses. Besides, the device boasts an 8MP telephoto sensor and a 2MP monochrome sensor. Supports video recording in 8K resolution at 30 frames per second. A 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor represents the front module.
The battery of the device with a capacity of 4500 mAh supports fast 65-W charging. Wireless charging power reaches 50W. The device is equipped with a USB-C port but lacks a 3.5mm audio jack. Separately, it is worth noting the protection against dust and moisture according to the IP68 standard and powerful stereo speakers. A fingerprint sensor built into the screen is used to identify the user.
The basic OnePlus 9 is not that much inferior to the advanced OnePlus 9 Pro. The difference lies in a screen with a Full HD + resolution reduced to 6.55 inches, which has not lost other advantages, such as a dynamic refresh rate, in the absence of a camera with a telephoto lens in the main unit.
The smartphones run Android 11 with the proprietary Oxygen OS shell. The OnePlus 9 Pro is available in black, silver, and green. The model’s price with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent memory is 899 euros. The version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will cost 999 euros. The more affordable OnePlus 9 is available in lavender, blue, and black. A smartphone with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent memory is $827.95. The version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will have to shell out $946.40.
