Intel CPUs faster in single-threaded mode only

We already had the opportunity to make sure that the AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile high-performance processors turned out to be very successful. New data indicates that even the upcoming desktop Core i9-10900F cannot overtake the Ryzen 9 4900HS.

The latest 10-core desktop processor Core i9-10900F was no faster than the mobile eight-core Ryzen 9 4900HS

To begin with, recall that the Ryzen 9 4900HS is an eight-core processor with SMT support, operating at frequencies of 3.0-4.3 GHz and characterized by a TDP of 35 watts. The AMD lineup also features the Ryzen 9 4900H with frequencies of 3.3-4.4 GHz and a TDP of 45 watts. As for the Core i9-10900F, this is the 10-core processor of the upcoming Comet Lake-S line, which will be released in late May. This CPU runs at 2.8-5.2 GHz and is characterized by a TDP of 65 watts.

As it turned out, in the Geekbench test, the new Intel is faster than the Ryzen 9 4900HS in single-threaded mode, but slower in multi-threaded. More specifically, the Intel CPU scores 5747 and 29 363 points, respectively, and Ryzen 9 4900HS – 5286 and 30 339 points, respectively. Yes, Geekbench is far from the best indicator of processor performance, but in this case, the results are still quite entertaining.
