LED video walls are slowly but surely gaining popularity as the step of the LEDs forming them decreases. In any case, TrendForce analysts say that they predict that this year the LED video wall market will grow by 3.7%.
We clarify that the new forecast has been substantially revised taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. If earlier, analysts expected that this year, sales of LED video walls will amount to 2.261 billion dollars, but now they predict the value of 1.946 billion dollars.
The pandemic has affected customers who buy video walls for public places, including concert venues, movie theatres, conference rooms, and retail stores. Many of them postponed purchases.
Geographically, as the virus spreads, orders declined in Europe and the United States.
According to analysts, demand in the current quarter will depend on progress in combating the pandemic in these regions.
In the future, various economic stimulus measures that governments will take may have a positive effect. Demand growth is expected in the second half of the year.
The main suppliers of LED video walls are Chinese companies: in the top five, there is only one manufacturer from another country – the American company Daktronics.
It takes third place with 8.2% of the market. Leyard is the leader with 12.1%, and Unilumin is in second place with 9.8%.
Note that the seven largest participants provide more than half of all deliveries.
