The mention of the video card GeForce RTX 3080 Ti appeared on the ASUS website
Ironically, it was the ASUS brand that became one of the first NVIDIA partners to hint at the possibility of a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti video card. In July, under such a “working pseudonym” the GeForce RTX 3090 presented at the end of September could have been hidden, but now the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti appears as an independent model.
Mentions about the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti ROG Strix Gaming series can be found in the technical support section of the ASUS website, as noted by Western resources. At the time of preparing the news for publication, the corresponding entry in the list of ASUS video cards of this series was available for study, although this circumstance did not provide any details about the technical characteristics of the new product.
It is only clear that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti should be equipped with 20 GB of memory, presumably of the GDDR6X type, which brings it closer in status to the GeForce RTX 3090. It is generally accepted that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will have the same number of CUDA cores, 10,496 pieces. Reducing the amount of memory should affect the width of the memory bus, which will be reduced from 384 to 320 bits. The frequencies of the video card have not been determined, but if they are slightly lower than that of the GeForce RTX 3090, then the TDP level may decrease from 350 to 320 W, becoming an additional factor in attracting customers. According to unofficial reports, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will hit the market no earlier than February, although NVIDIA may mention this product during its January presentation at CES 2021.
