The Mercenaries arcade mode will appear in Resident Evil Village from the previous parts, but with its own features
As part of the second edition of its Resident Evil Showcase news program, Capcom has introduced a bonus mode for all Resident Evil Village owners – familiar from past The Mercenaries games.
In one form or another, “Mercenaries” have appeared in many parts of the franchise, starting with Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, but the last, until recently, “meeting” with them took place in Resident Evil 6 sample 2012.
As in previous versions of The Mercenaries, players have to go through levels for a while, kill enemies, and pick up power-ups (such as increasing the power of weapons or moving speed).
Between the sections, users will be able to visit the Duke familiar from the main game, which in this arcade mode will offer to spend the money earned in battles to buy supplies and improve weapons.
The Mercenaries mode will appear in the Resident Evil Village as a bonus (you won’t have to pay for it) and will become available for viewing only after completing the main story campaign.
“The Mercenaries is an endlessly replayable mode that you will want to come back to again and again to tweak the strategy of killing waves of enemies and achieve the highest rating,” says Capcom.
The release of Resident Evil Village is expected on May 7 on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S. As part of the Resident Evil Showcase, the fourth trailer for the game was also presented, details of the second demo and technical characteristics of the console versions.
