The most affordable version of Microsoft Surface Pro 8 will receive 8 GB of RAM – twice as much as its predecessor

The basic, most affordable version of the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 8 tablet can get double the amount of RAM compared to its predecessor. Recall that the initial version of the gadget of the current Surface Pro 7 series is equipped with an Intel Core i3 processor and only 4 GB of RAM.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 devices rightfully bear the title of one of the best tablet computers based on the Windows operating system. The series is represented by models in various configurations, offering different processors, as well as the amount of available RAM and permanent memory. However, the most popular are the older versions, which offer 8 GB of LPDDR4X memory or more. Using only 4 GB of RAM on a Windows-based device even in the initial configuration at a price of $ 750 today seems bad form, and in an amicable way, Microsoft should have increased the minimum amount of RAM in its gadgets long ago.

According to the resource WinFuture.de, the manufacturer is going to solve this problem in the future series of Surface Pro 8 tablets, making the base model of the device more attractive to purchase at the expense of double the amount of available RAM. In addition, the base configuration of the device is credited with an Intel Core i3 processor and a 128 GB solid-state drive.

Recently it became known that the new Surface Pro 8 series will include models based on Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors of the Tiger Lake generation, equipped with Intel Xe graphics. Interestingly, one of the prototypes of the older version based on the Core i7-1165G7 went under the hammer on eBay for $ 1300 back in November this year, while the official announcement of the devices is expected only in January 2021.
