Repair video published
The NorthWestRepair YouTube channel published a video showing how to find the cause of the problem and repair the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition video card. It turned out that during assembly an insect got between the GPU and the contact pads of the printed circuit board.
The customer said it was a “brand new” Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition, which he bought from a “resale location” without any guarantee at a good price. When the system was turned on, the GPU fans spun up to maximum speed, but the image was not displayed on any monitor.
The new GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition did not turn on due to a dried insect
NorthWestRepair engineers diagnosed the video card and found no damage or short circuits on the printed circuit board. They decided to test the GPU, which is the key component of the video card. To do this, they removed the AD102 chip using special equipment and found a dried-winged insect underneath it.
After removing the insect and cleaning the contacts, the chip was installed back into the video card. The video ends with testing the video card in 3DMark.
