The PC version of the paper Beast adventure will lose its VR link at the end of October

The independent French studio Pixel Reef has announced on its website the release date for Paper Beast: Folded Edition, a regular version of the paper Beast adventure, previously exclusive to VR headsets.

Paper Beast: Folded Edition will go on sale on October 20 this year for PC ( Steam ). Despite the proximity of the release, the pre-order of the new edition is not yet available, and the cost is unknown.

According to the developers, the Paper Beast: Folded Edition will include all already released updates for the VR version, redesigned lighting, and controls (mouse, keyboard, controllers).

“Our goal, in addition to creating something new and fresh, was to provide as many people as possible with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fantastic world of Paper Beast with its majestic and intelligent inhabitants,” commented the announcement of Pixel Reef founder Eric Chahi.

The events of Paper Beast unfold in an ecosystem that was born in the memory of a data server. Fragments of lost code and forgotten algorithms gave life to paper creatures. Local animals adapt to the behavior and actions of the player.

Paper Beast was released in March this year for PlayStation 4 (PlayStation VR), and in July it reached PC (Steam, Viveport, Oculus Store). On Metacritic, the project has 79 points out of 100 (PS4 version).

Earlier it was reported that Paper Beast: Folded Edition (then the edition did not have a name yet) will appear on the Sony console. The release was planned for 2020, but since then nothing has been heard about this version of the game.
