The performance of the mobile GeForce RTX 3080 was on the level of the desktop GeForce RTX 3070 in the Geekbench OpenCL test
The results of measurements of the performance of the mobile graphics accelerator GeForce RTX 3080, used in the as-yet-unannounced ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo laptop (GX551QS), were found in the Geekbench synthetic test database. Some technical characteristics of this video card were also confirmed there.
The ASUS laptop itself, according to Geekbench, is equipped with an 8-core and 16-thread AMD flagship Ryzen 9 5900H processor, operating in the frequency range from 3.3 to 4.54 GHz. The system is equipped with 48 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM.
As for the video card, its GPU carries 6144 CUDA cores on board. Curiously, the Geekbench database reports that the GeForce RTX 3080 has 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory, which once again confirms the rumours about the existence of several versions of this mobile graphics accelerator. The maximum GPU frequency of the video card under discussion in the test was 1.54 GHz, which can speak of the Max-Q version, that is, aimed at maximum energy efficiency.
At this frequency, the mobile GeForce RTX 3080 scored 139,181 points in the OpenCL test, which is slightly higher than the result of the desktop version of the GeForce RTX 3070 model.
The mobile version lags behind the desktop GeForce RTX 3080 in this test by about 40 thousand points. But it should be borne in mind that the latter is equipped with a different GPU with a larger number of CUDA cores, and also has a higher threshold for the declared TDP level.
The announcement of mobile video cards GeForce 30-series is expected on January 12. Around the same time, the launch of the new AMD Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors, as well as the first gaming laptops based on the above components, should take place.
