These CPUs are almost equal in performance

This year, Intel introduced the budget N100 processor, which is already used in a considerable number of ready-made devices (mostly mini-PCs).

CPU – 4-core. It does not support multi-threading, has 6 MB of L3 cache and is characterized by a TDP of 6 W (frequency – 3.4 GHz). On paper, the specs aren’t impressive, but as it turns out, the performance of this CPU (tested on Geekbench 6) matches that of a 65-watt Core i5 processor. True, released in 2017.

Compare Intel N100 with Core i5-7400. It also has 4 cores and no multithreading support, the maximum frequency is 3.5 GHz, the same 6 MB of L3 cache, but TDP is an impressive 65 watts. It is impossible to write off all the improvements on the more advanced process technology by which the N100 is produced: the performance gain is largely due to the improved architecture.
