The remaster of Marvel’s Spider-Man also added a mode with support for ray tracing at 60 fps

Insomniac Games studio on its website announced the release of update 1.002 for the PS5 version of its superhero action game Marvel’s Spider-Man. The patch adds a third graphics mode to the remaster.

Recall that until recently, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered could offer a choice of either quality (full 4K, 30 fps, ray tracing) or performance (dynamic 4K, 60 fps, no ray tracing).

The Insomniac Games team was encouraged by fans frustrated by the inability to play simultaneously with ray tracing and at 60 fps to add a third option to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered.

With the release of version 1.002, owners of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered have access to such a mode – it is called Performance RT (“Performance with ray tracing”).

The first demonstrations of the new option were not long in coming – one of these videos is attached above. Simultaneous support for ray tracing and 60fps in Performance RT is made possible by more aggressive downsampling.

It is noteworthy that the premiere of Performance RT in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered took place literally a few days after a similar graphics mode appeared in the PS5 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered was released on November 12th exclusively on PlayStation 5. The game cannot be purchased separately: the remaster is available exclusively as part of the full edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
