The satellite communication system “Gonets-D1M” will soon be replenished with three low-orbit vehicles

According to Roskosmos, its Research Institute of Precision Instruments (NII TP, part of Russian Space Systems) has completed tests and has already handed over to the customer the last of the next three onboard Sadko radio systems for Gonets-M communications spacecraft. …

NII TP manufactures equipment and develops communication protocols for the Gonets-M satellites. The latter form a low-orbit constellation of spacecraft and are the basis of the Gonets-D1M multifunctional personal satellite communications system (MSPSS), designed for data transmission and provision of services to subscribers.

The enterprise creates software and hardware for central and regional stations, a communications complex control centre and a system control centre. In addition, NII TP, together with the Gonets Satellite System, manufactures subscriber terminals of various modifications to ensure communication at mobile and stationary facilities, as well as for personal use. It provides personal communication (text and alarm messages), the transmission of telemetric data from monitoring objects, including the coordinates of GLONASS / GPS subscribers and files of various extensions. The system is capable of transmitting information from anywhere in Russia at a low cost of subscription services.

Chief Designer Alexander Kotov noted: “Since 2017, NII TP has manufactured nine sets of an onboard radio-technical complex intended for Gonets-M spacecraft and delivered them to the company“ Information Satellite Systems named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev “(also part of Roscosmos). In 2020, we completed tests of the next three sets of the Sadko complex and handed them over to the customer, we are preparing for the production of the next six sets, which are supposed to be delivered by 2024–2025. “

The last launch of the three Gonets-M spacecraft, which joined the Gonets-D1M orbital group, took place quite recently – on December 12, after a delay of several weeks.
