It comes in several flavors, but they are all designed to connect to a USB-C port.

Kickstarter is raising funds to launch Smart Dock Hubs for MacBook and iPad. A feature of this device, which is perhaps more correctly called a docking station, is a small display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It, as conceived by the creators of Smart Dock, can display information about connected devices, including their temperature and current state.

Participants in the fundraiser were offered five varieties: four of them – “7-in-1” with screens measuring 1.3 inches, and the fifth – “9-in-1” with a screen measuring 1.54 inches. Two 7-in-1 models have built-in USB-C cables, two are detachable. Each pair is paired with Smart Dock and Smart Dock Pro models. For the first, over HDMI, you can display a 4K image with a vertical frequency of 30 Hz, for the second – with a frequency of 60 Hz,

A USB-C port is used to connect to a computer or tablet. Power Delivery 3.0 technology is supported. The power for which the dock is designed is 100 watts. The configuration includes HDMI 2.0, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0 ports, as well as SD and microSD card slots with UHS-I support. The 9-in-1 model features a Gigabit Ethernet port, USB 3.2, and UHS-II support.

The dimensions of the 7-in-1 models are 122 x 40 x 14 mm, the weight is 128 g. The 9-in-1 dock with dimensions of 150 x 60 x 16 mm weighs 180 g. The minimum contribution required to receive a device with a fixed cable is equal to $ 36. The rest of the options are a little more expensive. The authors of the project promise to start shipping in January.
