Galaxy S21 will receive Exynos 991 or Exynos 992
Sources have released new information on the flagship Samsung Galaxy S smartphones that will hit the market next year. As previously reported, smartphones come under model numbers SM-G991, SM-G996, and SM-G998. Presumably, they will be called Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 +, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The top platform Exynos 1000 will receive only Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
According to the latest reports, the South Korean tech giant plans to use the yet unannounced 5nm single-chip Exynos 1000 system exclusively in the older Galaxy S21 Ultra model, which will also receive such obvious improvements as more memory, battery capacity and improved image sensors.
The source adds that the standard version of the Galaxy S21 could be based on a more affordable SoC called the Exynos 991 or Exynos 992. Tests have shown that the Exynos 990 cannot compete with the Snapdragon 865 platform introduced last year.
It is rumored that the Snapdragon 875 SoC is too expensive. This allegedly forced Samsung to look for other options. The company can offer buyers an inexpensive base version of the Galaxy S21 and a premium Galaxy S21 Ultra.
But there is still a lot of time before smartphones come out, so in the end, things could be completely different.
