“This is not a teaser, but just a game”: EA did not deliberately reassure fans of Mirror’s Edge

Almost five years have passed since the release of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst; however, judging by the recent publication of the French branch of Electronic Arts, there is no talk about the return of the series of parkour action games yet.

Last Friday, EA France’s official microblogging posted a snapshot from the original Mirror’s Edge. The image was heavily pixelated (but still recognizable) and was accompanied by a question (“Who recognizes this game?”).

Innocuous at first glance, the tweet gave rise to hope for an early announcement related to the series in especially hungry for the news about Mirror’s Edge: the next full game, a release on new consoles, and so on.

As it turned out, there was no hint of any upcoming announcement in EA France’s plans, which is why the regional division clarified the situation in a separate tweet this week.

“So this is not a teaser, but just a game. If we once hint at something, you will immediately understand it, do not worry! ” – assured the microblogging of the French branch of Electronic Arts.

Fans of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell found themselves in a similar situation almost two years ago. The Division 2 and The Crew creative director Julian Gerighty announced work on a new game, and Ubisoft called the announcement a joke.

As for Mirror’s Edge, fans of the series currently have to be content with little: until May 3 of this year, a weapon mascot in the form of Faith is available in Apex Legends.
