Spy photographers have caught a redesigned Volkswagen Tiguan several times, and now they’ve spotted the top-of-the-line R-Line on tests.
The car received a slightly redesigned air intake that replaced the honeycomb mesh insert with a sportier diamond pattern. Also, the novelty received two-tone alloy wheels.
This is the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line 2024.
Spy photographers weren’t able to look inside, but previous shots showed a free-standing display similar to the one used on the facelifted Golf and the new ID.7. However, unlike the electric car, the Tiguan will apparently retain the traditional instrument panel.
Volkswagen has kept quiet about the crossover, but it is expected to be built on the MQB Evo platform and be unveiled later this year. Engine details will be available closer to launch, but the current U.S. Tiguan has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 184 hp. and 299 Nm of torque. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an optional all-wheel drive system.
