No mention of Nvidia DLSS and Intel XeSS found in game files
It looks like the Starfield game will indeed only support AMD FSR 2 upscaling technology, but will not support Nvidia DLSS and Intel XeSS.
The preload of the game on PC started yesterday, allowing the curious to peek into the game’s files. And there they found a mention of FSR, the support of which the developers initially declared, but did not find anything that would indicate support for competing supersampling technologies.
This time Nvidia DLSS fans are out of business.
Of course, based on these data, it is already impossible to speak unambiguously about the lack of support for DLSS and XeSS, but such a situation is quite likely. Recall that Starfield is being created with the active support of AMD. However, it is worth remembering that FSR is an open technology that also works on GeForce and Arc video cards.
The game will be released on PC and Xbox on September 6th. It will also initially be available in Game Pass, but, unfortunately, there will be no Russian language in the game.
